The Medical College building also known as Academic Block has a total built up area is 18000 m2, and houses the pre-clinical and Para Clinical departments. The location of each department and facilities in the College building are as given below:

Library and Information Centre
Comprises of a Central Library and 21 departmental libraries that collectively fulfill the needs of the teaching, learning and research programmes of the Institute. The Air-conditioned Library is located on the Fourth Floor (Level -5) of the academic building, and consists of two floors with a carpet area of 2515 m2. The Library has two Reading Halls for the students, separate reading rooms for Teaching Staff and Senior Residents, with a combined seating capacity of 450.
The Central Library comprises of eight Sections - Circulation Section, Periodical Section, Stack Section, Reference Section, Digital Library, Technical Section, Reprography Section and Audio-visual Room. The Digital Library houses 40+ computers exclusively for the library users to access e-books, e-journals, e-tutorials and other web based library services. E-learning resources like 3D Human Anatomy, MedRC SmarTeach and Animal Simulator are available in the Digital Library. At present the Central Library has a collection of 7204 books, 62 current print journals, 54 e-journals, 972 bound journals and 625 CDs in the field of medicine. All in-house operations in the library are fully computerized using the KOHA open source software that also provides web-based access to the online catalogue of Library. The Library uses bar-code technology for computerized circulation system. It follows the Anglo American Cataloguing Rules II for Cataloguing, and National Library of Medicine Scheme of Classification for the classification of books. The Library maintains a Digital Repository using DSpace software to provide up to date information to its users.
Four well equipped, e-learning enabled gallery type lecture halls of 180 capacity are available. They are located in the 1st and 5th Floors of the Academic Block. Each Lecture Theatre is provided with independent audio-visual aids, including overhead projector, slide projector, LCD projector and a microphone. These lecture theatres are shared by all the departments in a scheduled manner. Lecture halls have facilities for conversion into E-class/Virtual class for teaching.
Rooms for Dean / Vice Principal, Office for Superintendent, Record Room, College Office, College Council, Medical Education Unit, Central Photographic Unit, Common Rooms one each for Boys and Girls have been provided.
In the Fifth Floor two examination halls of 250 capacity each with an area of 1200 Sq.m. This has been furnished with ergonomically designed tables and chairs, cameras, computers, mobile jammers and printer and Internet connection as per KUHS’ requirements and MCI norms.
Animal Holding Area already available with an area of 200 Sq.m. and separate access.
Well Manicured playground for recreational activities is available.
A Gymnasium with all facilities is available in addition to the facilities in both hostels.
